Clutter is a critical ingredient of our humanity. We all have clutter, it is universal.
Cluttered states either drive brokenness - alienation or they provide a source of meaningful connection.
The tendency with clutter is to view it as a purely physical problem. If we approach decluttering purely from the physical dimension we miss the integrated growth dimension.
Most people grab for clutter’s secret lover, PERFECTIONISM to focus SOLELY on the physical clutter.
PERFECTIONISM unleashes punitive systems. PERFECTIONISM asserts dominance over the fragmented clutter, but does it every really win?
But here is my take on it…
Instead of reaching for the knee jerk reaction of perfectionism to dominate your clutter, reach inside and build a system to “be with” your CLUTTER in new meaningful ways.
Clutter holds different hidden messages, depending on where the clutter lives. Our mudroom clutter carries different messages than kitchen or bedroom clutter.
Basement Clutter is ground floor clutter. Learning to build a dynamic internal floor to structurally house our clutter in new ways, it is foundational to cultivating an integrated and growth mindset.
I work with structural paradigm organization. One reason I LOVE working my HOME PROGRAM is because EACH ROOM provides a structural opportunity to organize connection in new ways.
Hidden inside our clutter are stored messages which desperately need our attention! Once we attune to these messages, we get to organize and claim a new experience with ourselves and BELONG to our room in inspired ways.
Well-being emerges only through this deep integrated connection.
